Accra, Ghana — The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) is set to host its first-ever Public Relations (PR) Conference, aimed at equipping student communicators with modern tools and strategies for effective communication and advocacy. The conference, scheduled for January 23rd and 24th, 2025, will take place at the New Conference Centre, GNAT Hall, Accra.
The event will bring together Student Representative Council (SRC) Public Relations Officers (PROs) from tertiary institutions across Ghana, alongside student bloggers, to foster collaboration, skill enhancement, and innovation in student communication.
The two-day conference will feature panel discussions on the role of PR in student leadership, and workshops on digital media strategies, crisis management, and content creation. Participants will also engage in networking sessions, practical masterclasses, and a plenary session on the future of PR in student leadership. The event will conclude with a closing ceremony, including certificates and awards for outstanding participants.
Speaking ahead of the event, NUGS President Daniel Nii Korley Botchway stated, “This initiative seeks to empower student communicators to become more effective advocates for their peers. As the mouthpieces of their institutions, SRC PROs and student bloggers play a critical role in shaping narratives, and NUGS is committed to supporting their growth.”
The maiden PR Conference is set to establish a robust platform for student communicators to gain insights, share ideas, and collaborate on strategies to amplify the voices of Ghanaian students.
