As part of activities marking World Menstrual Hygiene Day, the NUGS Women’s Commissioner successfully engaged students of Taribiya M/A 1 Basic School in an educational outreach focused on menstrual hygiene and menstrual health awareness.
The session provided a platform to educate and empower young girls on proper menstrual hygiene practices, self-care, confidence building, and reproductive health awareness. Discussions centered on understanding menstruation as a natural part of growth, addressing common myths and misconceptions, maintaining good personal hygiene during menstruation, and encouraging girls not to allow their menstrual cycle to hinder their education or aspirations.
Beyond education, the outreach served as an avenue to reassure the students that menstruation is not something to be ashamed of but a natural process that can be managed confidently with the right knowledge and support.
