GRAND CONVOCATION

On Sunday, 13th November 2022, the much anticipated NUGS Talk – Accra edition took place at the Accra College of Education Auditorium after the completion of five successful editions across the southern part of the Country.

The talk dubbed Grand Convocation saw the attendance of twelve prominent speakers who have expertise in politics, creative art, and business.
Students from tertiary institutions and second-cycle institutions graced the occasion with the intention of learning from the stacked lineup of speakers.

The talk comprised three (3) major sessions namely; The Keynote session, the Masterclass session, and the Panel Session.

The Keynote session was led by Hon. Samuel Awuku (CEO NLA) and Dr. Benjamin K.D Asante (CEO GHANA GAS) shared with students their journey to achieving their goals and aspirations, challenges faced, and prospects for their leadership journey.

Then came the masterclass session which had 3 class divisions with different speakers who lectured attendees on topics ranging from Finance, Entrepreneurship, Academia, and Career & Information Technology.

The last and final session was the panel discussion. In this session, the convocation was honored to have Hon. Pius Enam Hadzie, Hon. Joyce Bawa Mogtari Esq and Dr. Rashid Kwesi Etuaful as panelists.

The president of the union – Dennis Appiah Larbi- Ampofo seized the opportunity to project the union’s motive to build a six-unit classroom block in the Kassena Nankana Community which has been termed the NUGS SPECIAL PROJECT.

The Talk was crowned with some performances and awards.

We at the secretariat would like to express our profound gratitude to our guest speakers Hon. Samuel Awuku, Dr. Benjamin K.D Asante, Hon. Joyce Bawa, Dr. Rashid Kwesi Etuaful, and Nana Ama McBrown for taking time off their busy schedules to make this event a successful august one. The leadership of the Union students and non-students who traveled far and near to make the Accra Edition of the NUGS TALK a grand one.
Our conviction remains grounded firm and deep that the ordinary Ghanaian student will have a say in a discourse of national interest.

NUGS has the future of students at heart. Education continues to be a right and not a privilege.
